Have Model 70 Classics in .300 RUM and 7mm STW. Got the .300 thinking of a possible .404 Jeff. 7mm STW only hold 3 down of .404. 3 will go but too tight to feed. .300 holds 3 down. Now here is what is interesting. The 7mm loaded 2 down feeds slicker than the .300 with either 2 or 3 down. I don't think that should be. Anyone else experience feeding problems with the .300 RUM action? I don't have any .300 RUM ammo to test it in the rifle. | ||

Just something to check... On the RUM box, there are windows/cutouts/notches or whatever, right under the feed rails on each side. On my mag box there was a burr on the stamping at the front that caused some rough feeding. A file gave the front edges a bit of a bevel and end of problem. Or a free bump to the top.
