I just looked at a push feed Win 70 in .223. It had the red hard rubber recoil pad. It had "Lightweight" written on the right side of the barrel(opposite where the caliber is written)and was written in cursive writing. Does anyone have any info on this rifle. It was 99%. Any idea of value?

Hardin I have two of these although different calibers, one just like you describe in .243 and one in 30/06 with a factory laminate stock both have "Lightweight" stamped on the barrel. I saw one sell awhile back on Gunbroker and it went surprisingly higher than I thought it would if I remember he got $500 for it. I have never seen any others in person at gun shows or shops. They came in a fairly standard variety of calibers for the time however I saw one for sale on the internet in 280 I believe which was slightly odd. I purchased both of mine new, the .243 in 1984 or 1985 and the 30/06 in 1989.

I have one in .223 and it's a superb shooter. However it's also a single shot as the feeding is extremely poor to non existant! If you buy one consider it a single shot.....but it will shoot very well! /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." Vapo Both of mine feed absolutely flawlessly, never even one issue ever and the 30/06 has thousands of rounds through it and the .243 has maybe 5-600 through it.
