I have a circa 1916 Luger captured in Germany by my father in 1945. It is now in the US and with the standard bbl is not importable. I have a spare 6" barrel but was told it would ruin the firearm trying to install it. Does anyone know a gunsmith in Minnesota that could do this conversian without wrecking the pistol? Thanks

Hi Karl. There was a gent, John Marz or something like that, who specialised in Lugers south of the border for a while. I'm afraid I don't remember more then that. I was very impressed with his work when I saw one though. - Dan

I have a 42 byf that had a 6 inch 30 caliber barrel put on it some years ago by a gunsmith in brooklyn, ny, and it's no worse for the wear.
