Does/Did anyone make a replacement bottom metal for the oem FN Browning Mauser rifles aluminum bottom metal? If so are there modifications required or fitting required? Not paying attention... watching NFL... also placed this under "Custom Rifles"

FN like any other FN 98 action. Just pick one. Check the actual bottom opening first but they all will fit the action.

If you want to save a few bucks over a new one, look for a 1909 Argentine floor metal unit. Replace the release button with one that is easier to use. The trigger guard can be lightly slimmed down and polished to make it a really nice looking unit.

Probably will have to lengthen the box though, using a 7.65 or 8mm bottom, but way cheaper than a $400 custom one. Point is, they all will fit.

I've got one of those units for sale in classifieds; it comes complete with the whole rest of the action dancing
