thismortalcoilNext years project
Need some suggetions for next years project. I am finishing a 7-08 on a Rem 600 action for this year and looking for help. 1910 Mex Mauser is the base. Want something bigger than the 7-08 without having to do any case forming or bolt mods. What are my options. A properly loaded 8mm Mauser has some appeal. Lets hear what everyonre has to say, thanks.

As would a properly loaded 9.3x57, a .358 Win, or a .338-08. Many will make a strong case for a .376 Steyr. I rather like the 9.3x57. Then a again, a .257 Rbts is a dandy.

thismortalcoilWith the 1910 being an intermediate length mauser will a 338-06 or 35 whelen fit?

I barreled an intermediate Yugo in '06 one time. Wasn't the best idea. Wound up having to use deep seated round nose bullets in order to fit the rounds in the unmodified mag. I changed it back to 8x57.

jeffeossowithout spending cubic dollars for linear inches, a mexican mauser is topped out at 3.1"
i've built
458 winmag (405s ONLY)
376 steyr
358 win
308
708
257 bob
on them.
best all around, the 376 steyr
best for "what if" on brass, 358 win
most fun to shoot... 458 or 708
