Today I called Brockmans and orderd 1 of his new pop up peep sights for my marlin 1895. It says on his web sight that its only availavle for the model 70, but he says he has it for the marlin now . If you are not familiar, it is a set of tally basses with the rear enclosing a spring loaded peep that pops up when you remove the scope. I was looking at tally QD rings and I see 2 kinds. The one with the lever and the one with the screw. Obviosly the lever would be the quicker to remove but I wonder If a Guy could remove the screw version with the rim of a 45/70 round. The lever version costs about 35.00 more and the levers look a little silly. i would like to be able to quickly remove the scope and not have to worry about carrying a screw driver with me ? Do you see any reason why it would not work ? ...tj3006 freedom1st

I believe you have to use a torx wrench or driver to remove the rings, so unless you are using some really strange 45/70 rounds you would have to use the levers or carry the appropriate tool.jj LostHorizonsOutfitters.com ---------------------------- "You may all go to hell, and I will go to Texas" Davy Crockett 1835 ----------------------------

the newer talleys have a torx, I cut slots and cold blued them so they can be removed with a pocket knife or whatever you carry
