I just recently came into a 721. It's barreled in the veneralble 30-06, but I have one and rarely shoot it. I was thinking about swapping out the barrle for a 25-06... But I also have a nice 300WM stainless barrel lying around too. How much money would I be looking at to open the bolt face and fixing feeding issues if there are any? The reason I ask is because Im just ho hum about the 25-06 but really would like a 300. I may just take the 721 in as trading fodder and be money ahead, but we all know how much fun it is to "tinker" with rifles...

I had a 721 a few years ago that I had rebarreled to .358 Norma Mag, if I remember correctly it was about $75 to open the bolt face and install the Rem mag extractor. McGowen Rifle barrels did the work. Mine fed fine without altering the feed rails.
