We're going to the Vegas gun shows in January and I want to visit Cecil Fredi. He apparently has a huge inventory of all kinds of walnut, maple & myrtle. Has anyone seen his stuff or dealt with him? His website is www.gunstockblanks.com.

I've bought one blank from him and it was superb. I also needed a scrap for a palm rest and he found three for me. Perfect match. He's the first place I would check out for more wood.

I visited him in 1999. He has a trophy room in his house and it was in SCI's first book on Trophy rooms. Although not as big and grand as some, it does have 5 or 6 full body grizzlies as well as trophies from several safaris to africa.

I was a bit disappointed with his wood and found most of it to be mediocre. He did say that he was out of the upper end walnut. He is a delightfull person and welcomes visitors.
