They could not care less about civilian customers.

In highpower rifle circles, Colt AR15s are universally laughed at.

Only the Colt Kool Aid drinkers at AR15.com think they are worth anything.

There are far too many excellent AR15 and SAA clones to fuck around with the dumbasses from Hartford.

HP Shooter pretty much hit it right on when it comes to Colt. There are so many AR's that are far superior to the Colts and for a lot less money that there is no reason to even bother with them. I cant remember the last time I saw somebody shooting a new Colt at a match.

I certainly understand your statements but, I will tell you one thing, at least when it comes to handguns, Colts will hold their value.

Others may have a better product; nobody has a better name.

You are correct about that, but I wont buy another Colt. I had a Series 70 Gold Cup that had been worked on by Wilson and I thought it was a great gun. That was until I got my hands on a Kimer Gold Match. It was everything my Colt dreamed of being at a fraction of the price. I sold the Colt and bought the Kimber and never have even slightly regretted it. I liked the Kimber so much I got a TLE II to go with it.

Colts quality is not near what it used to be. And their customer service is even worse.

When your products do not stand up to your reputation, how long do you think that state of affairs wil last?

Colt's days are numbered.

Note that I did not mention M1911s on my first post on this thread.

That is because it is a foregone conclusion that Colt's is not even remotely considered a player in the market they used to own.

It is rather sad, actually, to see a grand old company reduced to a laughing stock. Even FN beat them for the major M16 contract.

I had some hopes when their current CEO (a retired Marine Corps general) came aboard. But he has carried on with the course to self destruction set by his predecessors.

Oh well. They make nothing that I can't get for less money and better quality elsehwere.
