The cast aluminium bottom metal was introduced in june 1957, starting on serial #200001.

Not quite correct. The alloy bottom metal started with serial # 220,000. Serial numbers below were steel, but with #200,001 the bolt release was changed and moved slightly.

The Husqvarna Improved Mauser was made with two types of trigger guards.

The early one is steel and the front tang by the front guard screw is aprox 5/8" wide.

The late one is an alloy and the front tang at the front guard screw is aprox 7/8" wide.

They also has two contours of barrels, a lightwieght and standard.

How ever the different guards is what will really mess you up on, so be sure of which you have and what you get.

Also, there are 2 different bolt release designs. In total there are 3 different action / trigger guard combinations along with the 2 different barrel countours for a total of 6 different combinations. I can tell which model combination by the serial number and barrel length.
