Hi all, I am kicking around an idea for fabbing up a new rear sight, and I was wondering if anyone knows these dimensions of one of the dual aperture M16 inserts- 1) the height from the center of the pivot to the center of the aperture 2) The pivot appears to be threaded, does anyone know what dia. and TPI this is? Thanks, I'm wondering if it could be part of a serviceable rear sight for an M94. for every hour in front of the computer you should have 3 hours outside

An M94 what?? I don't know the TPI off hand but the sight hight from center of the screw to the center of the aperture is .375" I believe the screw is like an 8-40 www.KLStottlemyer.com Deport the Homeless and Give the Illegals citizenship. AT LEAST THE ILLEGALS WILL WORK

I am thinking of re-doing the sights on a Win M1894 lever action. I've never been happy with the sights on it, I couldn't ever use the rear semi buckhorn sight it came with and I eventually replaced it with just a simple folding rear blade that actually has worked pretty well, except the sight is rather fragile when you look at them closely. I broke it pulling the gun out of a fleece lined gun boot, and I repaired it with some epoxy (marine tex) but I have been thinking for some time about replacing the sights. And since I have no practical use for the gun (to be more accurate I have more appropriate guns for whatever use I need) I was thinking about making the sights a bit better, at least to me. Anyway, it has the ubiquitous hooded front sight which has always been slightly annoying as the post is slightly too tall for the hood, I would like the post to be centered rather than up towards the top like it is and a bit more visible. If I go with a fiber optic front blade it appears that often you need a different hood with a hole in it, which can then get dirt squished in it I have found. So I am thinking about a tritium front blade made for a pistol with a white dot, to match up with a receiver mounted peep sight. I'd like to design and fab it up myself but I am not above using a commercial aperture and I was curious if something could be made to use these M16 apertures. for every hour in front of the computer you should have 3 hours outside

How about a tang mounted peep sight. It will do what you need and will look good to boot. www.KLStottlemyer.com Deport the Homeless and Give the Illegals citizenship. AT LEAST THE ILLEGALS WILL WORK
