What is the little part behind the trigger supposed to do? This one seems to be broken because I think it's supposed to hold the lever closed until the trigger is pulled?

If indeed broken, where do you think I can find a replacement? Numrich has no parts.

Doesnt that block thr trigger until the breech is fully closed? To pervent firing while breech is partialy open?
