I have a Husquvarna model 38 swedish mauser rifle made in 1941. Is it strong enough for standard loads with the 9.3x62 mauser. If so, how much action work would need to be done to make it work/feed? Thanks, Matt Matt FISH!! If you haunt the web you will find that there are some factory sporter 9.3 x 62 commercial '96 Mausers by Husqvarna for a lot less money than the gunsmithing to convert a 6.5 x 55. Usually they go for 500-700 depending on condition. There are also a lot of 9.3 x 57 Husqvarna rifles too on 98 FN actions that are much easier to convert, just a rental reamer away from a 9.3 x 62. Two places to google-up are Allan's Armory and SARCO, Inc. I bought two 9.3 x 57 rifles and one 9.3 x 62 from SARCO for $275.00 each a while back. Thanks for the info. Did the old Husqvarna's shoot well? Matt Matt FISH!! My Husky M46 in 9.3x57 will shoot the Prvi Partizan 285's at 2100 fps into an inch at 100 yds with the right amount of AA2460. Light, easy recoiling, and accurate, what's not to like? Aut vincere aut mori | |||

Ditto z1r. They all shoot well assuming they are in normal condition. As far as fit and finish, the pre-war '96 Husqvarnas come very close to as good as the pre-war '98 commercial Mausers for about 1/10th the cost. You'll see a lot more beaters and average condition guns however because they don't tend to get parted out for custom guns like the Mausers did.
