Will a Remington 700 barrel from a Mountain Rifle in .308Win. screw into a Remington 600 action without any modifications? If, mods ARE needed, other than headspacing, of course, what might they be? Thnx. | ||

Headspacing and aligning the lettering on the barrel. Butch | |||

I took a rem 700 heavy bbl in 223 Rem and in stalled it on a Rem 600 that was a 222 Rem. Had to set bbl back .035 and finish ream chamber to get the scope block screw holes on the barrel to line up on top. Barrel shank and thread dem. are same as M-700. | |||
