Pics of Mauser Action Details?

I've been studying the possibility of a Mauser build, and have been researchng the Mauser action itself. Interesting, except I have a hard time visualizing the details of the action the De Haas describes in the "Bolt Action Rifle." I finally found a picture of the "collar" he was describing, but that's it.

Does anyone have pics of (or links to) the action details - collar, split collar, internals of the safety, and any of the other interesting close-ups, like how the barrel fits?

Thanks,
Jaywalker

Head on over to your local library and take a look at the book entitled "Mauser Bolt Rifles" by Ludwig Olson. it will tell you everything you wanted to know, and possibly more.

Another good Mauser reference is "The Mauser Bolt Actions, A Shop Manual" by Jerry Kuhnhausen.

So I gather my desire for internet pics is likely to go un-met?

See if your library has a copy of Stuart Otteson's, The Bolt Action. Otteson goes through an entire engineering analysis of the Mauser as well as other actions.
