That is incredible that someone is deluded enough to think that is worth more than a few hundred dollars at most!!!

Did you see the grain on the wood?

I bet I could have that duplicated (not that I would!!!) for $500, including the ivory.

Ouch.

All that for $19,500. Drop two zero's off the end of that price and it might be interesting.

words escape me on this one.....I'm trying to say something positive about it.....The only words that come to mind all have four letters.....and all of them bad.

I guess beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.....Personally I behold that to be butt trucking ugly.

Even if you dropped just one zero a guy could salvage the ivory and sell it at a flea market for $13.12 and sand down the stock for a light weaight something or other. Still trying to figure out what that something or other could possably be with any redeeming grace. But then again Grace or her sister with the ugly truck would turn it down too. I guess beauty is in the blind eye of the beholder. The time in Africa must be boring and in need of entertainment, what else would push someone to so much labor of love if not boredom.

I love the this - "Date of Creation: 1900-1949"! Maybe the patent date on the buttpad confused him. Roll Eyes

I sent him a message through ebay.

You gents are knocking it too hard. Stock is a bit remiscent of fancy 17thC wheelocks which had lots of ivory inlays, often on very plain wood understocks. Quality of the inlays is rather good here. The price, of course, is absolutely nutso.

That stock should be in a movie. A comedy. Maybe as Ace Ventura's big game rifle.
For that price do you think he'd throw in a black velvet painting of Elvis?

Maybe I'm getting old and feeble minded. It sure feels like dajavue, I swear I saw that same stock a year or so ago on Ebay for the same price. Correct me if I'm wrong. Does anybody else remember this refugee from "The ghost and the darkness" movie? I must be imagineing or halusinating. Being that Ebay goes out all over the globe like this forum does, there might just be some afishinado out there with buku bucks and releive this person of there misery.
