What is the best way to repair the finish on a Browning BLR 81's stock? I have one that I picked up several years ago when I lived in Hawaii and the stock has several scuffs and scratches in the surface of the finish, can it be repaired or just live with it?

Much appreciated on the info. Is there a 'how to' somewhere on the net? I guess I could try it as I don't have much to loose as the stock is scratched up as it is.

I got fed up with trying to keep that gloss finish looking good, finally just rubbed out the entire stock with 0000 steel wool for a satin finish.
