I'm going to be rebarreling a rifle and wondering if it's worth the extra price for stainless steel? What advantages do you get by going with stainless? The rifle will all be duracoated when finished. Also, which barrels do you guys prefer? Lilja, Hart, Douglas, Krieger?

corrosion resistance is about the only real advantage. Some may say barrel life accuracy what ever but all things being equal it's only advantage is corrosion resistance

I think the only advantage of stainless is corrosion resistance. Lothar Walther, Lilja, and Pac-Nor are all fine barrels. Paul.

Benchrest shooters all shoot Stainless Steel barrels.
I've been using Hart SS barrels since 1968 with good success for accuracy. Have a nember of their barrels on rifles.

I thought corrosion resistance was the only difference. I ended up having my gunsmith order up a Krieger for me.
