I came across a Lee Speed a little while back that was sent back to BSA at some point and rechambered to .22 Hornet. My guess is the rear leaf sight was ditched upon rechambering as it would be useless cut for the .303. I am about to start restoration on the rifle and I need to rig a replacement for the rear sight. I would like to keep the original look and use a folding leaf sight, but I'm wondering if it will work. I'm thingking something along the lines of the NECG 2 leaf sight. The problem is, the sight isn't long enough to fill the void in the rib where the original went. Some sort of filler plate would have to be made and the sight attached to it. Just wondering if anyone had any other ideas? Pics of the rifle: The sight slot: | ||
