I want a lefthanded stock for my Encore but Virgin Valley has gone into that good night. What's your sentiment concerning taking a full-length stock that is not inletted, cutting it in half in the action area and then shaping and inletting it to fit the Encore? The forward part could then be inletted to fit the T/C barrel-- no need to waste it. Lots of work? Yes. Lots of money? Yes. Lots of time? Yes. Will anybody do it? Don't know. Viable idea? That's why I'm askin' you!! Update @ 2011 PDT: Found exactly what I'm looking for at http://www.gunstocksinc.com and at excellent prices for unfinished wood. Does anybody have any experience with these guys?

yep, i had them turn a martini stock for me. it was right when i got it back, inletting was very good but still big enough to get a good fit. after i fit it to the action the customer took it to finish. i think their prices are more than reasonable.

Thanks, max(hm2). Now I need to summon the strength to pull the trigger on the idea.
