I reworked a Right Hand glass stock to LH on a custom Win 70 LH. Safety now does not work well. Takes effort to engage safety comes off fine. Bolt relief on stock is deep enough to allow operation. Have carefully looked at stock to see if something is binding but no luck so far. Any sugestions?

if the bolt handle is not completely closed the safety might be difficult to work

make sure the bolt handle is completely closed and not touching the stock.

vapo is correct. Check the safety with the action out of the stock. If it works ok then you've narrowed the problem down to the stock. Just have to find out where the problem is and I'd guess it's the cut-out for the bolt handle.
Good Luck
