I have no rifles with him now or ever had,so I can't comment on his business practices or his gunsmithing ablities. On the wheels falling off his or anyone's wagon, that has my sympathy.
We, in this electronic crowd should be thankful for his many (far too many for his own good) postings.I learned a great deal.I still like Remington 700s
Let's leave at that.

I had a real nice experiance with the man. He turned my CZ527 into a 6mm Cheapshot. Even sent me some formed and neck turned brass for the wildcat. He went above and beyond for me.
I also miss all his free advice. It helped me out a lot.
Jack also took the time to send me quite a few files and photographs when I had questions about metalwork that I was trying to do for the first time. He didn't have to but he did, that says something to me. It is none of my business, but it pains me to see someones personal life getting smacked around on a public forum.
Jack Did some good work on my mauser for me , He welded and filed a talley handle (excelent job), Drilled and tapped a reciever(holes are perfectly centered), trued action, crowned and fit the barrel ( rifle shoots 1/2inch groups). He did excelent work.
Anyone that has ever had their own business knows that when you do you will have folks that think because they spent a buck with you they are entitled to be an expert on what you have done or not done. This site is the first one I've seen that folks have an opinion on something they don't know about and haven't spent a buck on or even know their Ass from a hole in the ground about. It must be a 'yuppy' thing to do. Like fly fishing (thrashing the water in front and back of them into white foam) only to stop and answer a ringing cell phone. At least the water had a chance to calm down. If it makes someone feel good to low rate a gunsmith and bring into question his honesty and verasity then they need to realize one thing. You know who you are Moron! Most folks can see right through your pretended all knowing abrasive personality. Take care and try to glean a little knowledge from those that attempt to share their knowledge and experiences.
