My 391 starts to stick open after 15 shots. The gun locks open after shooting a round. When pressing the release button to close the action, the slide starts to move forward just a little bit then stops. I have to pull back the lever and release it before it will slam closed. Any ideas? I have had the gun totally apart and cleaned/oiled. Beretta was not any help, they want me to send the gun back. Thanks!

Difficult for me to diagnosis without racking the action in person. Two thoughts: 1. Check the action return recoil spring and stock bolt tube for proper operation. 2. Check the breech bolt slide is sliding freely in the receiver grooves. How old is this Beretta? In the past couple of years there has been a major problem with the carrier on many AL391's. The carrier was slighlty twisted and once replaced the problem was eliminated. Beretta at first would not acknowledge a problem. After a massive significant number of compliants Beretta finally replaced the defective carriers. All in all it sounds like this is what you are up against. Contact Beretta and they can check your serial number against the ones they had a recall on. I had a buddy that had this problem, fortunatley he owned two AL391's and switched out the trigger groups. He discovered he had a bad carrier and had it replaced by Beretta. Good luck. Focus on the leading edge!
