GasmanBrad,
There's pics of a Classic Sporting Sharpshooter on GunBroker with a grey McMillan Win Super Grade stock:

DavidCAR member Wink has a cz550 in a grey McMillan stock.
A search under his name should do it.
Regards,
Dave

BushchookWink ,
That's a nice understated look .
The hunting imperative was part of every man's soul; some denied or suppressed it, others diverted it into less blatantly violent avenues of expression, wielding clubs on the golf course or racquets on the court, substituting a little white ball for the prey of flesh and blood.
Wilbur Smith
That's quite nice but I was under the impression that is McMillan's green?

<9.3x62>Brad:
Here are some pics of one of my 9.3x62s - this one is in a grey Mcmillan. BTW, their green is a very dark olive color - almost black in low light.
9.3, I just got a McMillan Edge at the house in green day before yesterday and its the same as Winks. I'm guessing Mc changed their green perhaps?
Thanks for posting yours... that's definately grey. Looks good!

<9.3x62>Hmmm... perhaps their green and olive are distinct colors...
Here are their standard colors:

Brad, what model is it and what does it weigh ??
Thanks
Free Miner, I took delivery of one for fellow forum member Chuck Nelson from AB.
It's an M70 Edge inletted for a FW pattern. With a 1" Decelerator (rather than the 1/2" that McMillan usually supplies with the Edge) it weighs 22.6 oz's and is incredibly stiff... a marvelous stock really. I will probably end up with one hence this thread!

free_minerthanks for that Brad. I have a Supergrade ordered up with the light fill, I may have to change that to Edge construction

It may be that my camera somewhat exagerates the tones of my stock but it is definitely grey, with no tendency toward green. Here is another shot (with green grass in the picture and with the predominately brown/grey kudu backskin for contrast).
Not only is the MacMillan about as good as it gets in synthetic stocks, I think the pattern is quite good looking. It handles the recoil very well (straight back, almost no muzzle jump) and that is a good thing with a .416 Rigby.

Wink, your stock looks just like Chucks which was ordered green. It's a very subtle "mossy-grey-green" and looks exactly like your photos and nothing like 9.3x62's... who knows?
Free Miner, for a bit of extra cash I'd go with the Edge. It's probably the most impressive, light stock I've handled.
Sako, thanks for the kind words but was really no trouble and I got to monkey paw Chuck's stock!

Wayne ElmerThey are nice, aren't they Brad? For comparison purposes, my Edge stock inletted for a long action M70 (30-06), standard sporter barrel, and Williams one piece bottom weighs 22.9 ounces. That weight is also with a one inch Decellerator pad, studs, bedding, and paint.
