Question - Hogue stock on Ruger 375 or 416
My question is about the Hogue stock that comes with the Ruger 77, chambered in the 375 or 416 Ruger. Are these stocks reinforced in any way to be stronger than the standard Hogue stocks?

Do they have the same mushy recoil pad as the other Hogue Stocks?

Are they full aluminum or just the aluminum pillar type?

Thanks,

I don't know which Hogue Ruger is using. I have the basic stock with pillars that I use with my 400PDK. 400gr bullets at 2250 and 300gr at 2600+. Over 200 bullets down the tube and no issues.

As usual just my $.02

Your basic sticky, blocky Hogue with aluminum pillars. Nothing else and no different than the ones they put on lighter rifles.

Yea, that be the one - which sheds rain like a duck, rides in boats and salt spray with no effect, likes fourwheelers and mud and teenagers, the barreled action generlly drops in and actually fits, and the barrel is generally free floated or can be made so easily, costs about $120, LOP is good to go, has a decent recoil pad for normal calibers, comes with sling studs, easy to get a grip on in all conditions, dings dont show, comes in different colors, doesn't break, no waiting on gunsmiths, requires no bedding, less than 1/4 the cost of a McMillan, (did I mention no waiting?) holds up to heavy recoil, reasonable strength to weight ratio, so ugly it's pretty and shuns termites. Also it's quiet in the woods, and relatively quiet when working the bolt, rathere than amplifying the clacking sound like fiberglass seems to do. Big Grin Yea - that one, sticky rubber and all.

I don't know, I Purely LOVE mine. Of course, it's the full-aluminum bedding block, Camo one....

I think they would be better served with a more open grip and slimmer forend. It's basically a target stock-shape and really would be my last choice for a hunting rifle. But your question was what the stock was and that is what it is...Pillar bedded Hogue...$150 at Brownells, $97 if you get the discount.
