Question: Bending a Stainless Steel Bolt Handle
This is something I need a professional to do, if possible, but I would like to ask how easy, or not, it is to bend the end of a Stainless Steel bolt handle. I don't know the steel grade but supposedly it's high quality. With the bolt in the fully open and drawn back position I need to have a little more clearance between the handle knob and the scope rear housing. As the knob sits clear of the stock by several mm's in the closed position there is room to allow this.
Thanks for any comments.

Depends a little on the rifle and how the handle is attached. If it is welded on or integral:

No different than bending a non-stainless handle. Protect the bolt, secure it in a vise, heat the handle, bend the handle with a pipe. Polish off the scale.

The handle is integral.

Thanks again for the expert advice. The job should be pretty straightforward methinks.
