Dear Friends, I have a Winchester Model 70 Classic stainless in 375H&H and I want to buy some Weaver base's but since my rifle is not with me I can not verify if the hole spacing is the same between the front and rear base. I know that some of you have the same rifle since I saw a few pictures on this forum. Would you please tell me which bases I need. Thank you very much for you help as always. P.S. Weaver only thanks. I don't use Weaver bases, but the hole spacing for the rear base on new-production M-70 pre-'64 .375H&Hs is .330". George

My question goes to people who actually have the Model 70 classic stainless in 375H&H. What I need to know is if the hole spacing is the same between the front and rear scope bases... That will give me the answer to my question. Thanks again, Enigma

Simple answer is no. I have a 70 stainless and it requires the same bases as the "express" model. The holes ARE closer together on the rear of the action than the front.
