Old A, I have a small ring 98 that has the mill cuts along the outside of the receiver just under the woodline. Mine' a G33/40. I wish it was original because they are worth alot to a collector. They were originally 8X57 and were issued to the mountain troops. Mine is clearly marked G33/40 on the side of the receiver. Hope this helps.

My G33/40 does not say CZ on it anywhere nor does it have any manufacturers designation. It has 1940 on the rear portion of the front ring.

vip, I am sure you know that those actions are still very desireable and valuable for a custom rifle. If you wish to sell or trade, send me an email.

My rifle is at the engravers right now but it sounds like maybe a VZ-33, the original Czech. small ring 98 for mountain troops and police. The Nazi's later designated it the G33/40. Just my guess.

Cutomstox, thanks for the offer but mine has a Lothar Walther barrel threaded on it and is ready to be chambered for a 6.5X55.
