yes375 ruger in m98 action
is it suitable to use m98 action to build a custom rifle in 375 ruger? do m98 cope with 375's pressure and is it enough long tp accept the new round?.

jpexI was going to build a 375 Ruger on a m98
but I found a good deal on a Ruger African.
I had a barrel ordered from Pac-Nor. If you
are looking for a quality barrel in 375 Ruger
thay make them. I haven't seen anyone else
who has them available in that caliber, although
I'm sure they all will eventually. Good luck.

Just curious. What exactly needs to be done?

458WinDepending on what caliber the action was initially built for you also may have to replace the bottom metal in order to get it to feed 100%.
Duane Wiebe at Sound Metal Products turns out a real nice one in case you have to go that way.
Anyone who claims the 30-06 is ineffective has either not tried one, or is unwittingly commenting on their own marksmanship

So an Interarms Mark X action that has a magnum bolt face would do just fine?

458..thanks for the "plug" Yes, we configure the magazine for perfect stack and can provide a correct follower.
This "foundation" is so important...no matter who provides you with the bottom metal...good luck!

Toomany ToolsYes, both the Interarms MKX and the Rem 30 will make nice .375 Rugers.

Mauser98I had Bill Leeper build me a .375 Ruger on a JC Higgins M50(FN) action. The rifle was originally a .270 Win so the bolt face, extractor, rails, feeding ramp, follower and magazine box all required some degree of modification. As far as I know, mods to the mag box were limited to thinning the side walls near the top as much as possible. As it sits, the rifle will hold 3 down plus 1 in the chamber.
With a 21" McGowan barrel, the original stock(muchly reinforced and restyled) and a Leupold 2-7X33 VXII in steel Talley rings and bases the rifle weighs 8 lbs 12 oz.
Obviously it is more desirable to use properly sized bottom metal with appropriate follower when doing this type of conversion but, thanks to Mr Leeper, my rifle functions perfectly.

22WRFI have been on AR for a long time, and I have never seen a Bill Leeper rifle that I didn't like.
That one is just plain NICE!!!! Looks like he straightened out the bolt a bit as well.
How does it shoot?

Thanks. Bill did all the metal work including adding the Talley-style bolt handle to replace the swept back style of the FN. It's a lot easier on the knuckles now and looks a lot nicer.
I did all the stock work which included lengthening the pull, reshaping the forend and grip and adding internal cross-bolts. The rust bluing is mine also.
This is a before picture.
It shoots really well if I do my part.
This group is at 200 meters.
