Some commercial Mausers had a unique (cheap) style of bolt stop mechanism and used this spring. Can anyone tell me where to get a new one?....see red arrow /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." The spring typically held in place via screw such as this Herter Mauser from the early '60s /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." I don't know the answer to your specific question, but I do know that I have seen before and after photos of rifles that had that type of bolt stop setup that were changed over to the normal bolt stop setup. A hanger was welded on and a regular bolt stop installed. I believe it was done mostly on FN Supreme type actions.

This was a Browning "innovation" We used to install this same system on Enfields It's not TOO bad...a replacement spring can be made

and thanks....I'm aware of that and don't really want to do it unless I have to. This seems to be life in the repair shop.....a twenty cent piece will cost $16.00 and postage to buy and $175.00 to make if one has to.....and one can charge the customer a buck if he's lucky! ![]() It's just not fair having all this fun and not allowing others to join in! ![]() I'll be patient and maybe someone has one in the spare parts drawer......and is also lucky enough to remember it's in there and where exactly it is!!! ![]() /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery."
