My new 700 has this trigger which I think is excellent. I have it adjusted to 2 lbs 3 ozs. How light can I safely go with this trigger. Thanks. Dave

How light do you need it? It's a great trigger but it isn't a target trigger. If you need to go lighter than 2 lbs, then I would suggest going with a trigger designed for that.

Only the trigger can tell you how low it will go. Keep adjusting it down and see where starts to fall off. Give it a good bump thump and hard bolt slam to check it out. Glad to hear you got a good X mark trigger. I've adjusted about 20 of them and they're the biggest mistake Remington has made in years. About 40% of them wont even adjust down to 3lbs. The good ones seem to be pretty good but the rest are complete garbage. Had an eary style trigger in the shop today for adjustment and what a jem it was compared to the new triggers.
