I read a few posts touting the Jewell trigger. Will this trigger make a Rem 700 "safe" in terms of the accidental discharges related to the supposed faulty factory design? What other brands/models eliminate this safety issue for the Rem 700? Thanks.

"Yes" and "all of them" is the answer to your questions.

Do a search here to read all about them... If you're still a glutton for punishment ( [Smile] ) Go to Huntamerica.com and do a search there... there's a two year history of post.

Shilen makes a good trigger as does Basix. I like the Basix better as it feels like a Remington...the Shilen is more narrow as is the Jewell. For me, Jewell triggers are more suited to competition and varmint hunting while the Shilen and Basix are hunting triggers.
