I have a Weatherby 12 ga Orion (and a 20) that started acting up last year.I took it to a gunshop who farmed it out to a smith here in Lancaster Pa.Long story short the smith broke the stock and I had to pay to have it fixed at Weatherby. The smith said that he corrected the problem( the action cracks open every 20 or so shots which is dangerous and causes me to miss the second report on sporting clay shoots) Anyway, the the smith never corrected the problem after having hte gun for a year and now I have it back with a new stock and I can't use it. Is there anything that might be easy or obvious that I am overlooking? The original store that I took it to told me to send it to Weatherby myself. I also wonder if there is anything special I have to do to ship it( if I must) or if anyone on here knows a reputable smith that can fix it for me here in Pa. You input is appreciated.

I don't know about weatherby very much, but if their customer service is good then I would send it to them. shipping a shotgun to them you wouldn't have to do anything special. They can ship it back to you no problem as well. Having had a Orian that shit the bed in less than 9 months (doubling), all I'm going to say is TRADE IT IN ON A BROWNING. Orian = JUNK Attitude of Weatherby's customer service dept = PISS POOR

I have probably shot over 15K rounds through it after I bought it from a friend after he put 5 years of constant shooting through it.My other one 10K rounds.I think there is a difference between the guns- the SKB's etc. I have a browning pistol that has been nothing but trouble from day one. I wont ever get rid of this gun- I bought it one day after trying it at a trap shoot from a friend.I actualyl bought 2 of them they fit me so well I will never go back to another O\U and hence why I want to get it repaired. Yeah, I think I'll send it back to Whby.
