who makes falling block actions for sale? I have a nice barrel from a brno 602 i 375 hh mag and looking for buying an unthreaded falling block action to build a rifle.

Considering one can only shoot one rifle at a time, spending money on a superb Hagn action, makes much more sense than having a couple barnyard Ruger#1s'.

sure M&H actions are good, but it depends what ypu want to do with them . i asked a falling block action to put a used brno barrel on it not making a very nice custom made rifle , i want the gun as a working horse not a beuty lady on the wall

The simple truth is that what you are talking about is almost a meaningless exercise. Falling block actions are not cheap in any form. Finding one available with unfinished barrel threads will likely be impossible except from a very expensive custom maker. All this to use a takeoff barrel from a midgrade rifle, which will have to be rechambered and ejector cuts made anyway is a supreme effort in wasting money. Buy an action and then have it barreled. You will pay a fraction of the cost that you would incur trying to use the barrel. If your goal is an inexpensive single shot, then I think you hit the nail on the head with buying a used No 1 375. Save the other barrel for a mauser project of some kind, or just sell it to partially fund the falling block.

In the ad below the fellow has a Sharps (actually High Wall Winchester) action for sale. It's in the white with a single set trigger. Couple of other interesting items too.

So do you own any Martini and Hagn actions?

Nothing wrong with Ruger, Dakota, and Miller.

Too bad we don't have more choices.

I like the Miller the most, think the Dakota is the prettiest, and the Hagn is the most reliable. But for the price the Ruger is pretty darn nice.

considering Yes is looking at .375H&H chambering, Id say thats an important factor and sensible incentive to go Hagn, Especially in an singleshot DGR.
You can only set out so save so much money before its starts to cost you in other areas,that to me, are mostly not worth compromising on.
But then again, maybe Yes is only planning to shoot SabreToothJungleBunnyJackrabbits I dont really know.

I'm looking into ordering one right now. I have owned an original Gibbs and currently own a H&H built on a trade farky and a Westley 1897. The Ruger just is not my cup of tea.

I only have (3) #1 rifles, and so have not yet worked my way up to an M&H.

What improvements can I expect?
