I would like to remove a factory front site/base from a SS Blackhawk barrel. At what temperature is this achieved? Thanks!

Heed the words of Winston Smith in Orwell's 1984:

"Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right."

All I can add is the ones I have removed were on blued bbls and 3-screw guns.

They took an OA torch and red heat to melt the
'Silver Braze'(?).
They also had a verticle pin in them for strength and/or easy location when attachment at the factory I guess.

They are river brazed on, so 800-1000 degrees.

What, exactly, is “river” brazing”? Is that where you lay down a little “river” of molten metal and slap the part on top of it?

It's when your wife is yelling at you to get off the computer and leave for church and your finger hits an R instead of an S, and it is 11 below here today, so your fingers are frozen anyway and autocorrect makes it River. Siri knows there is no word called Rilver. I had to make it do that.
SILVER. Not River. What is river brazing anyway? It's silver.
Main point is, they are not soft, or low temp soldered on, so a lot of heat is required.
