Well Don; I have a least 3 Mausers in need of the rear trigger and have not been successful in finding the exact trigger. What I finally did was ordered several triggers etc. from Track of the Wolf that I believe can be modified to fit. Haven't accually got to it yet. FWIW --- John303.

There are many options to look at.

Recknagel have some parts but they are expensive - http://www.recknagel.de/Joomla.../3-Systemtechnik.pdf. I am not sure if they sell only part of the triggers.

You could also try Eric Schodr in Austria though he is a Mannlicher specialist. I have his catelogue fo Mannlicher Schoenauer parts. http://www.myhuntingshop.com/s...s/opinion/mannlicher He actually makes the Mannlicher Schoenauer actions even today!

The other place to look is the German Gun collectors association http://www.germanguns.com/contact.html. great people and always helpful.

NECG also sell the Recknagel triggers. I wonder if they can help with sourcing parts?

Hope this was of some help.

Good luck.

The housing of the DST on Oberndorf sporters is an integrated part of the magazine box.

The Recknagel dst is a modular part that can only be fitted if the original housing is milled out.

The parts of that Recknagel will never fit to an Oberndorf DST.

Even if you have an Original Oberndorf spare (leftover)part it is not for sure that it will fit into the existing rifle.
At least not without - sometimes difficult - fitting work.

The fitting process of the DST in the Oberndorf plant was always a handjob and therefore you will find slightly different parts.

I think these set triggers are attached to trigger guard with horizontal pins as you can see in this picture:

Hope the link will work.

Here is what I mean.
Upper and middle row preWW1 Oberndorf(front trigger without fingertip)
Third row post WW1 trigger pair.
The pairs all have matching numbers.

I have never had the opportunity to have a close look at Oberndorf DSTs, but from what I'm reading the closest thing would be a Brno 21H - the triggers are "in" the bottom metal. I did get a Mauser that unless you looked very closely you could not easily tell it was modular, fitted absolutey perfect, even the pins were flush. FWIW --- John303.

There are at least a half-dozen different modular DSTs available so therefore some of their parts may come a little closer to what you need than others. Likewise the Brno or M-S trigger parts may be capable of being altered to work for you. However IMO any of these options will entail lots of either expense or handwork or both, with no guarantee of success.

IIWY I'd consider starting from scratch and fabbing a new trigger plus any other parts needed. The basic steps are simple (grin).

A little time to understand the positioning and functioning of the missing parts, a few measurements transferred to a drawing of what you want the new part to look like, a full-size outline scribed onto a suitable piece of steel plate, a little metal removal....

Yeah, I know it SOUNDS easy when it's put that way, but actually almost anyone can usually do much of the work involved using only home shop tools. Any awkward or precision operations can be farmed out to either a local machine shop or a specialist such as Steve Earle. Steve is top-notch!

If you pursue the semi-DIY option as suggested above, I also suggest that you begin fabbing 3 pieces for each final trigger wanted. It involves almost nothing extra for each additional piece and I can guarantee you will wish you had done this. Not necessarily because of any irretrievable blunder, but often simply because you're unhappy with the shape!
Regards, Joe

The Brno m21 dst are similiar in construction, but have different measurements and differently constructed springs.

They will not fit to an Oberndorf sporter.

Another great example of AR support! Thanks guys. I do not know much about twin triggers except that I have a rifle with one and I just love the rifle.

Here are some photos of my Simson 9.3X62

Thanks guys, I do have an original complete kurz unit that I can get all the measurements from. I already pulled apart 3 different modular units and confirmed they are all way too different and easier to fab them from stratch. Just trying to save so time and keep things as original as posible. Jim I apperciate the offer I'll shoot you an email.
Thanks,
Don

An anecdote;

This thread makes me shed a tear. I was at one of the auction houses I frequent picking up a few mausers and got to talking the owner. He told me I really missed out. Last summer there were literally boxes and boxes of mauser parts. One was an entire box of double set trigger parts.

The whole box sold for a few dollars...

Anyway, if I can be any help with precision machining or hand fitting the parts let me know. I will keep my eye out for any parts, they are out there.

I know what you mean. When I was in graduate school at the University of Illinois I used to shoot on their indoor small bore range. One day I took my newly acquired M1922 Springfield to try it out. The sergeant on duty (it was a ROTC range) told me I couldn't shoot a Springfield, since the backstop would not stand up under the high powered ammunition.

I showed him the rifle and demonstrated that it was chambered for the .22 long rifle cartridge. He took the rifle, removed the detachable magazine, and examined it, then said, "So that's what those magazines were for. There was a whole drawer full of them back in the armory, but I couldn't find anything they fit, so I threw them away."
