The safety on my Springfield is virtually impossible to move from the "ready" position to the "safe" position without pulling back slightly on the firing pin knob.

I just bought the rifle from Pegleg so I don't have any history other than asking him. Pegleg replies he never noticed the problem.

Any guidance on this?

While I'm at it, I haven't searched for replacement safeties but they must be out there. Any recommendations on which to choose should I decide to replace the current safety?

Thanks, Russell

The safety is worn and needs to be re-fitted.

Is it the factory safety? or a Mark II, etc? I recommend the Wisner, though it does take fitting. Jim Kobe could hook you up, or Mike McCabe. could tackle it yourself but I seem to remember on mine sending it out in the end anyways (few years ago).
