Hello Everyone.

I would be most interested to hear from anyone with recent experiences dealing with J&R for checkering cutters.

Have you found them reliable?

I've purchased quite a few from them. They are very slow to deliver but always completed my orders. The quality of the products they've provide me is excellent.

When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. If not, why support someone who doesn't support us? Consider spending your money elsewhere.

I have come to understand that in hunting, the goal is not the goal but the process.

Don't even bother to try their re-sharpening service.

Like so many times...the father did really good work with a reasonable turnaround. I used to have him grind a cutter with an offset so I could checker bolt knobs at 40 lpi.

I had some very slow sharpening service a few years ago, but recently I ordered some new hand tools etc.. COD and they showed up in short order.

Thanks for the responses.

I ordered quite a few cutters and spares about 6 or 7 months ago and haven't seen any sign of them despite full payment.

Queries about delivery have not been responded to so I was wondering if he was ill........thus my question as to other experiences.

I guess i will keep trying - a little frustrating and quite stressful!

Is there another supplier over there???????

I have had confirmation today that J&R are shipping my parts after sending them to another address (easily done).

The wait has given me a few grey hairs but hopefully all is well that ends well. As long as they get here in good condition I will be happy.
