My perception is that MMC and Dorian are not an option for power checkering. Does anybody have any experience with the Hosford tool?

Michael Ullman, an ACGG member has purchased the manufacturing rights for the Doiron tool. He will be making them shortly. He now is making cutters for the MMC and the Doiron and cutters for the hand tools.
