I use a carbide burr in a die grinder. Put inletting black on the bolt handle and take your time. John Farner If you haven't, please join the NRA!

I've done a small fraction of what John and Jim have done but I use a burr on a flex shaft grinder with inletting black. As usual just my $.02 Paul K

Hi, Contrary to most, I use a Pfeil #7 10mm gouge sharpened to shave with and go slowly. Takes a half hour or so, but makes for a perfect metal-wood marriage and removes the worries some of us may have using power tools for inletting. Of course, I do not make a living doing stock work. Just can not tolerate Ruger and Remington canals dug for shipping. Ugly. Another country heard from, Stephen
