For all you seasoned smith's please hold back the laughter.

I'm headed to a LE Rem armorer school in April next year. 4 day class covering 11-87, 870, and 700.

Wondering if any of you know exactly what they will teach. I would like to be able to get the basics like rebarreling a 700 safely. I'm sure they wont show any trigger mods.

they are not going to discuss with you rebarreling the 700 either. detailed stripping and cleaning. inspection, trouble shooting, small parts change outs, and being able to determine when to send the gun back to the factory.

Younger brothers are with CHP California Highway patrol. And at the academy the range staff is not trained in the rebuilding of the weapons. They are not armors in the true sense of the term.
They just keep the weapons safe and functional and if anything happens they send it to the factory.

If you want to really learn to work on a rem 700 Join the Marine Corps. And go for scout sniper armor. No those boy build good rifles and ammo.
All USMC SS rifles are built for Marines By Marines along with the ammunition they use as well

There's too much liability involved when those weapons are going to be used against criminals that have and will sue the agency

FWIW, I believe the Marines who actually build the rifles are called "Gunsmiths". Marine Corps armorers, while considered tops in their field, generally possess skill levels well below that of the Gunsmith.

Didn't know it they actaully called them a smith or not. And I sure wasn't going to call them a gunnersmate
