Mauser that is... Does anyone have a source or can you supply some basics on what to look for or avoid when it comes to finding an old Mauser action to build on? I have been running across them but have no friggin idea what i am lookign at, nor whether it is worth the cost etc. With all the different versions it's just plain too esoteric for me to figure out on my own. Help me here... Thanks, Baxter | ||

The only "bad" M-98 Ive seen was loaded with rust. The rest are usually very workable. Emphasis on M-98. Im kind of partial to the Argentine, BRNO's and the Persian variations.. Ditto what Airgun1 said! I also have a plethora of M-48 yugo actions. If you wish to build something with a shorter case they are as strong as the 98's and make a great base, for anything 06 length or longer stick with the M-98 though.
