In trying to find a synthetic stock to fit my pre-64 Winchester .243, I ended up with two stocks. One that fits and one that doesn't. The one that doesn't is a Bell and Carlson that I can't figure out what it is supposed to fit. It is their standard black carbelite stock with the number 0793 [Confused] just forward of the front lug. I've checked a couple of webpages and that is not a item number that shows up. Anyone have any ideas on how to figure out what this stock fits? Thanks in advance. LT

Welcome to the forum.
My guess would be it fits a m70 classic. If it fits a winchester at all? The classic short action is shorter than a pre-64 and the classic long action is longer than a pre-64. In other words there is only one pre-64 length action. There are 2 m70 classic lengths. (now 3 with the advent of the wssm's)
Hope this helps.
