RollandMy covid project
This 1938 Carcano rifle came in to the local gunshop it had been "sporterized" by person or persons unknown but since they like me gave me a good deal on the remnants.
Had to cut the barrel to 17.5 inches to keep the good parts and reshaped the stock to accommodate the shorter barrel and used a Mauser bayonet lug band for the end cap,I stripped the black finish they use and added some tung oil for color and seal the wood. Replaced the bolt with a carbine bolt with the turned down handle. Found an old take off ramp sight for the front left the military sight. surprisingly it shoots dialed in at one inch high at 100 yards. Most all was left over parts found in the misc box.
Its still 6.5 caliber surprisingly the bore is bright with no corrosion. This would make a dandy carry gun for truck or off road vehicle.
So make your comments I can take it.

Its a Gatling gun .22 caliber, I built it a number of years ago. I am replacing the strikers and firing pins, since I didn't harden the strikers they are sticking.
I will shoot some photos.

jeffeossonice looking rifle --
question though, didn't the 38 have gain twist? if so, any keyholing?

Uncle GrinchNice “repurposing” of a Carcano. They can be handy little rifles or should I say carbines when worked over. I’ve had several 6.5’s in the past and just picked up a M38 in 7.35.
Yours looks real clean. Would look cool with a butter knife bolt handle.

Was not aware of the gain twist but it does not keyhole at 50 to 100 yards past that I have no idea.
