Hi everybody. I've got a problem with the rear sight on one of my Sevilles. The sight blade has come away from the windage adjustment part of the sight. I think that this is beyond my ability to reapir. And I really don't want to break it further. Who would be a good gunsmith to turn to on this?

I would send the sight to Alan Harton in Houston. He spends 90% of his time rebuilding, customizing and restoring SA's. I own many of his creations. Google him as I do not have his number here. Tell him Boxhead sent you.

Was that originally brazed ? The design makes it a bit fragile if you wack it.

I think that it looks kind of like a Millett rear sight. I'll see if I can find a new one someplace and see if can I just switch the sight blade.

The guys at singleactions.com know all about Sevilles. I'd ask them if a current sight blade will slip in. If not they can make a good reco on who can fix it. I had a 375 USA Seville with a 10.5" barrel. It sat unfired at a gun shop for a year until I bought it. It had some scratches from being moved from the showcase to the safe twice a day. I fired it and it shot well. All parts were serial numbered including the well fitted walnut stocks.
