I was given a S&L M54J in 7x61 S&H.
It's in the white, along with a Fajen stock of one of those racy sharp angle, tear drop gripcap styles. Myrtle by the looks.
Anyway, is there a magbox on this model? There was not one with it, I inlet the metalwork, and am not even sure where a magbox would fit?? Interesting rifle, not really to my taste, but should be fun to play with.

I have a S&L model 60 in 7x61 and it has a metal magazine box. I'm pretty sure they all had one.

Not sure but I think the M54J had a single stack magazine rather than a staggered stack. Whether it used a box or simply the wood I'm not sure. Who is the fellow that stops in here that was/is involved directly with S & L? Perhaps his name is Jurgen.

Here is a link with some info on the S&L rifles. I had both an M60 and M65 and they had a mag boxes which I'm sure the M54J did too and as stocker says, it did have a single stack magazine.

That would make sense as it has a lifter thats springloaded as opposed to a follower. Thankyou for the help guys!
