I bought a Rossi Trifecta about 10 years ago. It includes a .243 barrel. I just got around to shooting it yesterday and it doesn't group worth a damn. I started to look on the internet for suggestions and found that everyone is having the same trouble. I called Rossi and they said that since they only have a one year warranty I would have to pay for anything they did, to include the bench fee. Do any of you have any experience on salvaging the barrel?

Not grouping worth a dam can mean almost any thing. What size groups are you getting. How is the fore end and stock fit lapping the barrel might work.

I'm lucky if I get them all to fit on the same 8x11 paper.

I shot some factory loads. Then I was trying to work up a load. I started with 55 grain bullets working up with H4859 at .2 of a grain increments. I went form 39 grains up to 44.6 grains. Then I went to 70 grain bullets and again used the lowest to highest loads prescribed by the Hodgdon book. Then I did the same with 100 grain bullets and H4350. They were all over the place no mater the grain. I was shooting from a rest with a sand bag.

Get on the GBO forum and read the FAQ pertaining to Handi rifles. The principles involved are the same and there's a lot of useful info on accurizing. GW The possibilities for disaster boggle the mind.

Some have suggested having the chamber boared out to a 6MM.

Is it really worth doing thing that is going to cost you much money to do. When one looks at what one can buy low cost bolts guns for I just might replace.
