A year or so ago I purchased a new Win Mod 70 in 375H&H and re-barreled it to 400H&H in preparation for my African trip this September. I have been very happy with the guns function but not that happy with the MOA trigger that would only adjust to 4# 2oz at its lightest. Other than the weight of the trigger pull the trigger is fine no creep no over travel and breaks cleanly. I justified the heavy trigger pull (all of my other rifles are at 3#)with the weight of the rifle and the fact that it was to be used for DG, I got use to it for off hand shooting but was still not happy with the weight of the trigger pull shooting off of sticks. My gunsmith said he could pull the trigger apart and change some springs, I also discovered that Timney has a trigger group available to replace the MOA trigger sometime in the middle of this month. I have a good friend that reps for Sentry Solutions that specializes in dry plate lubricants and had bought one of their Armorers kit from them but it sat on a shelf un-opened. After speaking with him he said to try his products as they claim it will lighten the trigger pull so I gave it a try... I cleaned the trigger group with denature alcohol than swabbed it with their Smooth Coat a dry plate lubricant suspended in an aromatic solution after letting it dry I applied their BP2000 powder... According to my fancy Lyman digital trigger scale it now releases at 3# 3oz give or take an oz, this after two range sessions. Will it stay that way? maybe so far so good will probably need repeated applications. If I can get a Timney trigger group before I leave I might do that but I hate to change things so close to departure with out the time to shake it out. But for know I'm impressed

This would be a good question for your sales rep friend. Anytime you have metal rubbing on metal it's a good idea to apply something to reduce the friction. Whether your 2 part lube will last for the long haul I don't know. With the BP2000 powder, it might be a pain in the ass to reapply in the field. Especially if a wind is blowing. For me, I prefer something much simpler like a good, single base Moly grease. It fits in one small container and there is no part (a) or (b) to accidentally misplace. _______________________________________________________________________________ This is my rifle, there are many like it but this one is mine. Personally I would rather have a trigger that is mechanically set at the poundage that I desire whether it a box trigger with springs and things or a classic bent and sear than apply a lube

On every trigger I have tried it on, Moly grease will reduce the pull effort .5-1 lbs and give a smoother pull, with no adverse affect on sear engagement. Mostly with Rem 700 single stage style but also custom two stage, military, and several AR triggers. I've got several thousand rounds on these for NRA competition and never had a significant change in pull. I use NECO Moly-slide and put it on every trigger I own.
