In my testing I fired loads as hot as 42gr H-322 behind a 200gr Hornady Spire-Point. (Still nothing beyond a slightly flattened primer.) Indeed, recoil was FIERCE -- much more than 45/70 loads in the same pistol, and my brother's 454 Casull is tame by comparison!

Just picked up a Remington XP100R in .35 Remington. Don`t ask why cuz I can`t tell you. I guess I just really like .35 caliber. Anyway, is it possible to rechamber this to .358 Win using the factory barrel? Or to something else?

hoss,
About three months ago I rechambered an XP-100 in 35 Rem to 358 Win for a customer. It was a straight easy rechamber once I made a fixture for holding the short factory barrel thru the headstock of my lathe. I fired it one time with a 200gr stiff handload. The fired case came out looking and measuring just as it should. I had NO overwhelming desire to fire it again for group. Regards Jerry CGS

in a short barrel, you won't see more than 200 fps.
