From the Ebay website:
Firearms Policy

" Actual firearms, including collectibles and antiques.

Replicas, paintball guns, "air soft" guns*, pellet guns, replica, toy guns, cap guns and "look-alike" guns if they do not have clear markings permanently affixed to them (commonly blaze orange markings on the barrel or a blaze orange plug inserted into the barrel) or if they are readily convertible to shoot a lethal projectile

BB guns, air guns, blank guns, black powder guns or muzzle-loader guns. Listings that use the term “BB gun†in the item title or description of any listing for an air soft or replica gun.

Stun guns
1. The possession and sale of stun guns is prohibited in Hawaii, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Wisconsin, and the District of Columbia and may also be illegal in other locations within the United States. In addition to being prohibited under certain state laws, some municipalities also limit stun gun sales.
2. Stun guns that are designed to look like everyday items, such as cell phones or flashlights, or which are designed to be hidden or concealed, are not permitted on eBay.

Ammunition
Prohibited
This includes live, inert, and blank ammunition, as well as any component used to make up an actual round of ammunition, such as lead bullets, brass/casings, shells, primers and gunpowder. "

It's the little things that matter.

craigster,

It's a matter of the scale for sellers.

We gun people bought a lot of old gun parts from non-gun people doing estate and garage sales. Now the non-gun people don't know where to go and I'm betting a lot good parts are going into the dumpster. My example of this: last year on e-bay I bought a set of 32" barrels and fore-end iron for a pre-war Browning Superposed that the seller found in a closet of a house they bought.

Also, barrels, firing pins, triggers or another other part that helps the firearm go BANG is not allowed. No shotgun empty hulls, wads. NO BRAINS on the management of ebay

Somwhere on the net I read that ebay adopted this new batch of nonsense restrictions after the Virginia college shootings. Ebay has always been antigun and supposedly their lawyers told them that if they sold a barrel or trigger and someone made a gun with it and shot someone else they could get sued. Of course the result is the opposite of what they intended: instead of these transactions for "deadly" parts being out in the open they are now clandestine.
